About Kimya Dawson
Kimya Dawson is an American anti-folk singer-songwriter, born in 1972 in Bedford Hills, New York, and a co-founder of The Moldy Peaches. Her plainspoken songs and lo-fi recordings reached a wider audience through the film Juno, whose soundtrack featured The Moldy Peaches’ “Anyone Else but You” and her solo tracks “Tire Swing” and “Loose Lips.” Her albums include Hidden Vagenda, Remember That I Love You and Thunder Thighs.
In 2001, Kimya Dawson toured North America with The Moldy Peaches as support for The Strokes. As her solo catalogue expanded, she played intimate club and all-ages shows centered on her voice and acoustic guitar. The Moldy Peaches reunited in 2007 for a New York show at the Knitting Factory.
