Klaus Hoffmann in Mülheim

Klaus Hoffmann is a German singer-songwriter, actor and author, born in Berlin in 1951. He works in the chanson and Liedermacher tradition and is known for albums including Westend, his interpretations of Jacques Brel, and his leading role in the screen adaptation of Die neuen Leiden des jungen W. In 1997, he appeared in the music-theatre production Brel – die letzte Vorstellung at the Schillertheater, turning his long engagement with Brel’s songs into a complete stage work. He later returned to that repertoire in the theatre program Klaus Hoffmann singt Brel, performing German-language versions of songs by Jacques Brel.
