About KOKOKO!
KOKOKO! is a Congolese collective formed in Kinshasa, known for electronic post-punk built around improvised instruments, distorted rhythms and forceful vocals. The group introduced this sound on the album Fongola, which includes “Tokoliana” and “Azo Toke,” and followed it with BUTU.
KOKOKO! brought its self-built percussion and electronic equipment into clubs and onto festival stages. The group performed at Glastonbury Festival before taking the same live format to Roskilde Festival.
