Artist
Kovacs is the stage name of Dutch singer-songwriter Sharon Kovacs, born in Baarlo in 1990. She makes dark-toned soul and pop shaped by jazz and electronic production, led by a low, husky voice. The single “My Love” introduced her first EP, and her debut album Shades of Black followed. Later albums include Cheap Smell and Child of Sin; the latter’s title track is a duet with Till Lindemann. In 2015, Kovacs opened for Robbie Williams on European dates of the Let Me Entertain You Tour, taking songs from Shades of Black into arenas. That year she also performed at Pinkpop in Landgraaf and the North Sea Jazz Festival in Rotterdam.
