About Lalalar
Lalalar are a Turkish trio formed in Istanbul in 2019 by Ali Güçlü Şimşek, Barlas Tan Özemek and Kaan Düzarat. They play psychedelic Anatolian rock shaped by electronic rhythms, bass and guitar. The group introduced that sound on songs including “İsyanlar” and “Yalnız Ölü Balıklar Akıntıyı Takip Eder,” then developed it across the albums Bi Cinnete Bakar and En Kötü İyi Olur.
Lalalar toured beyond Turkey as a three-piece, playing European clubs and Roskilde Festival in Denmark. The trio also performed at Le Guess Who? in Utrecht, using vocals, guitar, bass and electronic rhythms in its live set.
