Laurie Anderson in Chicago

Laurie Anderson is an American multimedia artist, composer and musician, born in Illinois in 1947. Her work brings electronic music, spoken word, violin and performance art together. She is known for “O Superman” and the album Big Science, as well as narrative stage works that use processed voice, film and projected imagery. In 1983, Anderson presented the complete multimedia work United States at the Brooklyn Academy of Music; recordings from the production were released as United States Live. Her concert film Home of the Brave was later shot during performances at the Park Theater in Union City.
