Artists
Lebanon Hanover are a British-Swiss post-punk and coldwave duo formed in Sunderland, England, in 2010 by Larissa Iceglass and William Maybell. Their stark bass lines, guitar, drum-machine rhythms and alternating vocals are heard on albums including The World Is Getting Colder and Tomb for Two, which contains the songs “Gallowdance” and “Sadness Is Rebellion.” Lebanon Hanover tour as a two-piece, with Iceglass on guitar and Maybell on bass while both members sing over programmed rhythms. They have performed at Wave-Gotik-Treffen in Leipzig and at Cruel World in Pasadena.
Clan of Xymox is a Dutch darkwave band formed in Nijmegen in 1981 by Ronny Moorings, Anka Wolbert and Pieter Nooten. Its early albums Clan of Xymox and Medusa were released by 4AD and included songs such as “A Day,” “Louise” and “Muscoviet Mosquito.” Recording for a period as Xymox, the group later released Twist of Shadows, featuring “Imagination” and “Obsession.” In 1985, Clan of Xymox toured Europe and North America supporting Dead Can Dance. In later decades, the band returned to both regions for club and theatre concerts and performed at goth and alternative festivals, including Wave-Gotik-Treffen in Leipzig and M’era Luna in Hildesheim.
