Lee Fields in Philadelphia

Lee Fields is an American soul and funk singer, born in North Carolina in 1950. His recording career began with the 1969 single “Bewildered,” and he later became known for deep-funk and retro-soul records made with the Expressions, including the albums My World, Faithful Man, Emma Jean and Special Night. Lee Fields toured Faithful Man and Emma Jean with the Expressions, playing clubs, theatres and festivals in the United States and Europe. The band followed Special Night with a 2017 Tiny Desk concert at NPR in Washington, D.C., and its festival appearances have included Glastonbury Festival.
