Lee Rocker in Des Plaines

Lee Rocker is an American singer and upright bassist, born in New York in 1961. He co-founded the rockabilly trio Stray Cats with Brian Setzer and Slim Jim Phantom in 1979, and his bass playing is central to recordings including “Rock This Town,” “Stray Cat Strut” and “(She’s) Sexy + 17.” His solo catalogue includes the albums No Cats and Black Cat Bone. In 1983, Lee Rocker performed with Stray Cats at the US Festival in California. Reunion tours followed, and the original trio returned for the 2019 40th Anniversary Tour behind the album 40. He also continues to headline clubs, theatres and rockabilly festivals with his own band. Lee Rocker’s concerts are full-band rockabilly shows led by his vocals and upright bass. His sets draw on solo material and the Stray Cats catalogue associated with Brian Setzer and Slim Jim Phantom.
