Fred Hammond is an American gospel singer, songwriter, producer and bassist, born in Detroit in 1960. He co-founded the group Commissioned before leading Radical for Christ and building a solo catalogue rooted in contemporary gospel and worship music. His best-known songs include “No Weapon,” “We’re Blessed” and “You Are the Living Word.” The live disc of Pages of Life: Chapters I & II was recorded at Greater Grace Temple in Detroit, capturing Hammond and Radical for Christ in a church setting. He later led the recurring Festival of Praise tour, whose lineups have included Donnie McClurkin and Hezekiah Walker.
