Leire Martinez is a Spanish pop-rock singer born in San Sebastián in 1979. She was the lead vocalist of La Oreja de Van Gogh between 2008 and 2024, recording albums including A las cinco en el Astoria, Cometas por el cielo and El planeta imaginario. Her recordings with the group include “El último vals,” “Inmortal” and “La niña que llora en tus fiestas”; she later began her solo career with “Mi nombre.” The A las cinco en el Astoria Tour was her first concert tour as La Oreja de Van Gogh’s singer, taking the group through Spain and Latin America after her arrival in 2008. She subsequently fronted the Cometas por el cielo and El planeta imaginario tours, performing in theatres, arenas and at festivals. In 2012, she appeared with the band at the Festival Internacional de la Canción de Viña del Mar.
