Leslie Odom Jr. in Fayetteville

Leslie Odom Jr. is an American singer and actor, born in Queens in 1981 and raised in Philadelphia. He is best known for originating Aaron Burr in the musical Hamilton, a performance that brought him a Tony Award; he also sang on the Grammy-winning original Broadway cast recording. His solo albums include Leslie Odom Jr., Simply Christmas and Mr., covering jazz, soul, pop and show tunes. He made his Broadway debut in Rent at the Nederlander Theatre while still a teenager. He later played Aaron Burr in Hamilton at the Public Theater and remained with the production when it transferred to the Richard Rodgers Theatre in 2015. In 2023, he returned to Broadway in the title role of Purlie Victorious: A Non-Confederate Romp Through the Cotton Patch at the Music Box Theatre.
