Lewis Black is an American stand-up comedian, actor and playwright, born in Washington, D.C., in 1948. He is known for tightly wound monologues about politics, public life and everyday absurdities, as well as the recurring “Back in Black” segment on The Daily Show. His recorded work includes The White Album, and he voiced Anger in the Pixar film Inside Out.

Black on Broadway was filmed at New York’s Brooks Atkinson Theatre for an HBO special in 2004. He followed it with the concert album Carnegie Hall Performance in 2006, then recorded The Rant Is Due at the Borgata in Atlantic City.
