Lisa Batiashvili in Abu Dhabi

Lisa Batiashvili is a Georgian violinist, born in Tbilisi in 1979 and based in Germany since adolescence. She won second prize at the 1995 International Jean Sibelius Violin Competition. Her recordings include Echoes of Time, Visions of Prokofiev and City Lights, alongside concertos by Sibelius, Tchaikovsky and Prokofiev. In 2018, she performed Dvořák’s Violin Concerto with the Berliner Philharmoniker and Paavo Järvi at the Margravial Opera House in Bayreuth for the orchestra’s Europakonzert. She has also appeared as soloist with the London Symphony Orchestra under Antonio Pappano and the Staatskapelle Berlin under Daniel Barenboim. She has returned to New York for Carnegie Hall engagements and to Vienna for concerts at the Musikverein.
