Artist
Lisa LeBlanc is a Canadian singer-songwriter and banjo player born in Rosaireville, New Brunswick, in 1990. Her self-described “folk-trash” draws on Acadian music, rock and country, often using the regional Chiac dialect. She became known through her self-titled debut album and the song “Aujourd’hui, ma vie c’est d’la marde,” while later releases include Highways, Heartaches and Time Well Wasted and Chiac Disco. In 2010, Lisa LeBlanc won the Festival international de la chanson de Granby, an early live milestone before the release of her debut album. She subsequently toured in Canada and Europe, performing at the Francos de Montréal and Festival d’été de Québec. Her French-language concert history also reached France through the Francofolies de La Rochelle.
