Artist
Lonesome River Band is an American bluegrass group formed by guitarist Tim Austin in Meadows of Dan, Virginia, in 1982. Banjo player Sammy Shelor has led the band through much of its recording history, which includes the albums Carrying the Tradition and Old Country Town and songs such as “Her Love Won’t Turn on a Dime.” In 2022, the group marked its 40th anniversary with a performance at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville. Its US festival history also includes appearances at MerleFest in Wilkesboro and the Grey Fox Bluegrass Festival in Oak Hill.
