About Los Huracanes del Norte
Los Huracanes del Norte are a Mexican norteño group formed in 1969 by members of the García family. Their music covers corridos, rancheras and romantic songs, with accordion and saxophone central to recordings such as “La Hielera” and “911.”
The band has spent decades touring on both sides of the Mexico–United States border. Its concerts have served audiences for regional Mexican music in dance halls, theatres, arenas and festival settings across both countries.
Los Huracanes del Norte perform as a full norteño ensemble featuring accordion, saxophone, bajo sexto, bass and drums. Corridos remain a central part of the set, including “El Gato de Chihuahua.”
