About Los Prisioneros
Los Prisioneros were a Chilean rock band formed in San Miguel in 1979 by Jorge González, Claudio Narea and Miguel Tapia. Their new wave, punk and pop-rock songs paired direct melodies with lyrics about class, politics and life under dictatorship. The albums La voz de los ’80, Pateando piedras and Corazones produced enduring songs including “El baile de los que sobran,” “Tren al sur” and “Por qué no se van.”
After reuniting in 2001, Los Prisioneros played two concerts at Estadio Nacional, later documented on a live album named after the venue. They returned to major stages during the reunion period and performed at the Festival Internacional de la Canción de Viña del Mar in 2003.
