Artist
Lucibela is a Cape Verdean singer born on São Nicolau in 1986. She performs morna and coladeira, drawing on the song traditions of the Cape Verde islands. Her recordings include the albums Laço Umbilical and Amdjer. At WOMEX in Katowice in 2017, Lucibela presented her repertoire to an international audience. She later performed material from Laço Umbilical in theatres and at world-music festivals, including WOMADelaide in 2020.
