Lucinda Williams is an American singer-songwriter, born in 1953 in Lake Charles, Louisiana, whose music draws on country rock, folk and blues. She is best known for the album Car Wheels on a Gravel Road and songs including “Passionate Kisses,” “Drunken Angel” and “Can’t Let Go.” In 2003, Williams recorded three concerts at San Francisco’s Fillmore for a double live album, capturing the electric band format central to her touring. In 2018, she revisited Car Wheels on a Gravel Road on a twentieth-anniversary tour, performing the record in sequence and telling stories about its songs. Her concerts typically feature Williams on vocals and guitar backed by a full band. Her road band has often been billed as Buick 6.
