Mabel Matiz in Mannheim

Mabel Matiz is a Turkish singer-songwriter born in Mersin in 1985. He makes Turkish pop with electronic production, acoustic textures and melodies drawn from Anatolian traditions. His catalogue includes the albums Mabel Matiz, Yaşım Çocuk, Gök Nerede, Maya and Fatih; “Sarmaşık,” “Öyle Kolaysa,” “A Canım” and the Mert Demir collaboration “Antidepresan” are among his best-known songs. After the release of Maya, Mabel Matiz presented the album’s concert repertoire with a full band and headlined Istanbul’s Volkswagen Arena. He later returned to the city’s open-air season at Harbiye Cemil Topuzlu Open-Air Theatre, where his sets incorporated material from successive releases including Fatih.
