Magnum are a British rock band formed in 1972 by guitarist and songwriter Tony Clarkin and singer Bob Catley. They play melodic hard rock with progressive elements, and their catalogue includes the albums On a Storyteller’s Night, Vigilante and Wings of Heaven, as well as the songs “Just Like an Arrow” and “Days of No Trust.” Concerts at the Marquee Club in 1979 were captured on the live album Marauder. In 1985, Magnum played Monsters of Rock at Castle Donington during the touring cycle for On a Storyteller’s Night. After a farewell tour in 1995, Clarkin and Catley re-formed the band in 2001 and resumed touring in Britain and continental Europe. On later headline tours, Magnum played concert halls and theatres including Birmingham Symphony Hall and the London Palladium.
