About Making Movies
Making Movies is an American Latin alternative band formed in Kansas City in 2009 by Panamanian brothers Enrique and Diego Chi. The group plays rock shaped by cumbia, salsa and Afro-Latin rhythms; its albums include I Am Another You, ameri’kana and XOPA. Rubén Blades appears on the song “No Te Calles” from ameri’kana.
Making Movies performed a Tiny Desk concert for NPR Music in 2015, presenting its songs in a compact full-band setting. The group later brought its catalog to the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival and toured with Los Lobos.
