Malena Ernman in Stockholm

Malena Ernman is a Swedish mezzo-soprano, born in Uppsala in 1970, whose repertoire covers opera, cabaret and pop. She is widely known for “La voix,” the operatic pop song that won Melodifestivalen, and has recorded albums including La Voix du Nord and Opera di Fiori. Malena Ernman has performed at the Royal Swedish Opera in Stockholm and La Monnaie in Brussels, and her stage repertoire includes Carmen and Nerone in Handel’s Agrippina. In 2009 she won Melodifestivalen and represented Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest, performing “La voix” at the Olympic Indoor Arena in Moscow.
