About Mamas Gun
Mamas Gun are a British soul band formed in London in 2007 and led by singer, songwriter and guitarist Andy Platts. Their music draws on soul, funk, R&B and soft rock, heard on albums including Routes to Riches, The Life and Soul, Golden Days and Cure the Jones. “Pots of Gold” and “Red Cassette” are among their best-known songs.
Tours supporting Beverley Knight and Raphael Saadiq helped take the band beyond UK club and theatre stages. Mamas Gun have also performed at Glastonbury Festival and WOMAD, presenting the songs as a full-band set led by Andy Platts.
