Manolito y Su Trabuco in Hamburg

Manolito y Su Trabuco is a Cuban timba orchestra formed in 1993 by pianist, composer and arranger Manuel “Manolito” Simonet. Its music draws on son, salsa and Afro-Cuban rhythms, and its best-known recordings include “Marcando la distancia,” “Loco por mi Habana” and “La Habana me llama.” Manolito y Su Trabuco have toured internationally since the 1990s, bringing their large dance-band arrangements to European festivals and concert halls. Simonet leads from the keyboards alongside brass, bass, Afro-Cuban percussion and several vocalists, the format the orchestra has presented at Casa de la Música in Havana.
