Manu Chao in Vitry-sur-Seine

Manu Chao is a French singer-songwriter and guitarist, born in Paris in 1961 to Spanish parents. He co-founded the rock and ska band Mano Negra before beginning a solo career that brought together reggae, Latin music, punk and folk. His best-known recordings include the albums Clandestino and Próxima Estación: Esperanza, and the songs “Bongo Bong,” “Clandestino” and “Me Gustas Tú.” In 2001, Manu Chao toured with his band; recordings from those concerts appeared the following year as Radio Bemba Sound System. He later performed at Coachella in 2007, and a 2008 concert at the Arènes de Bayonne became the live album and concert film Baionarena.
