Marc Martel in Bethlehem

Marc Martel is a Canadian rock singer and songwriter born in Montreal, known for his work with the Christian rock band Downhere and for performing the music of Queen in a voice closely associated with Freddie Mercury’s style. He co-founded Downhere, whose recordings include “How Many Kings,” and later contributed vocals to the film Bohemian Rhapsody. His 2011 video audition of “Somebody to Love” led Roger Taylor to select him for Queen Extravaganza, the official tribute production created by Taylor. After touring with that show, Martel took the repertoire on the road under The Ultimate Queen Celebration and later One Vision of Queen featuring Marc Martel.
