About Marcus Anderson
Marcus Anderson is an American saxophonist, composer and bandleader from Spartanburg, South Carolina, known for contemporary jazz shaped by soul, funk and R&B. His recordings include Style Meets Substance, And Coffee and Limited Edition, and he also performed as a member of Prince’s New Power Generation.
In 2012, Anderson joined the New Power Generation and went on to tour with Prince, including performances at the Montreux Jazz Festival in 2013. As a solo bandleader, he has taken his saxophone-led group to established jazz events including Capital Jazz Fest and the Seabreeze Jazz Festival.
