Maria Bamford in Tarrytown

Maria Bamford is an American stand-up comedian, actor and voice performer, born in 1970 and raised in Duluth, Minnesota. She is known for sharply differentiated character voices and candid material about mental illness, family and money. Her major works include the comedy album Ask Me About My New God! and the semi-autobiographical series Lady Dynamite. In 2012, she recorded Maria Bamford: The Special Special Special! at her Los Angeles home, performing the set for an audience of her parents. The 2017 Netflix special Old Baby was assembled from performances for audiences of different sizes at locations including a bowling alley, a bookstore and a theater. Maria Bamford performs solo, moving rapidly among character voices, imagined conversations and direct autobiographical stand-up.
