Artist
Maria Gadú is a Brazilian singer-songwriter and guitarist, born in 1986, whose music is rooted in MPB. Her self-titled debut introduced songs including “Shimbalaiê” and “Dona Cila”; later albums include Mais Uma Página and Guelã. In 2010, Maria Gadú recorded Multishow ao Vivo Maria Gadú at Credicard Hall in São Paulo, documenting the live repertoire of her debut period. She later joined Caetano Veloso for Multishow ao Vivo Caetano e Maria Gadú, and the pair performed the project in Brazil and Europe. Maria Gadú has also performed at Rock in Rio and the Montreux Jazz Festival.
