Maria Muhar is an Austrian writer and cabaret performer, born in Vienna in 1986. She writes prose, poetry and stage texts, and published her debut novel, Lento Violento, in 2022. Her theatre work includes Tuntschi. Eine Häutung, written with the Wiener Grippe/KW77 collective, and Wirecard: Last Exit Bad Vöslau. Her solo cabaret programme Storno opened in 2022 and received the Förderpreis at the 2023 Austrian Cabaret Prize. That year, Muhar also devised the Comish cabaret series for the Vienna Festival.
