Maria Muldaur in Fall River

Maria Muldaur is an American singer, born in New York City in 1942, whose work draws on folk, blues, country, jazz and R&B. She first recorded with the Even Dozen Jug Band and Jim Kweskin Jug Band before launching a solo career. Her best-known recording is “Midnight at the Oasis” from the album Maria Muldaur; Waitress in a Donut Shop followed with songs rooted in blues, jazz and country. In the 1960s, she performed in the Greenwich Village folk scene before touring with Jim Kweskin Jug Band. Her subsequent solo concerts have drawn on the same American roots repertoire, and the album Live in London documents her work as a bandleader in the 1980s. In later decades she has performed blues-focused sets with Maria Muldaur & Her Red Hot Bluesiana Band.
