Mariachi Herencia De Mexico in Grayslake

Mariachi Herencia de México is an American mariachi ensemble founded in Chicago in 2016 through the music-education work of the Mariachi Heritage Foundation. Made up of young Mexican American musicians, the group performs rancheras, boleros and other traditional Mexican repertoire. Its debut album, Nuestra Herencia, received a Latin Grammy nomination, followed by releases including Herencia de la Tierra Mía and Esencia. A Mariachi Christmas has taken the ensemble to performing-arts theatres across the United States, presenting mariachi arrangements of seasonal music and Mexican holiday traditions. Its broader concert history includes the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., and Ravinia Festival in Highland Park, Illinois.
