About Marietta
Marietta is an American emo band formed in Philadelphia in 2011. Its music pairs interlocking, math-rock guitar lines with shouted and sung vocals, heard on the albums Summer Death and As It Were and songs including “Cinco de Mayo Shit Show.” The band also released the split EP Couples Therapy with Modern Baseball.
Marietta toured the DIY circuit during its original 2011–2015 run, playing house shows and small venues before disbanding. The band reunited for performances in 2023, following its farewell show at Everybody Hits.
