About Mariko Takahashi

Mariko Takahashi is a Japanese singer born in 1949, known for pop and kayōkyoku shaped by jazz phrasing. She first became widely known as the vocalist of Pedro & Capricious on “Johnny e no Dengon” and “Goban-gai no Marie e,” then established a solo repertoire that includes “for you...” and “Momoiro Toiki.”

In 1993, she gave a concert at Carnegie Hall in New York. The following year, that overseas concert history extended to London with a performance at Royal Albert Hall.
