Artists
Mariza is a Portuguese fado singer, born in Mozambique in 1973 and raised in Lisbon’s Mouraria district. Her debut album, Fado em Mim, introduced a repertoire that includes “Ó Gente da Minha Terra” and “Chuva”; later records include Transparente, Terra and Mundo. A 2003 concert at Union Chapel was filmed for Live in London. Two years later, her performance beside the Belém Tower became the concert release Concerto em Lisboa, and she subsequently brought her fado repertoire to halls including the Royal Albert Hall and Sydney Opera House.
Tony Carreira is a Portuguese singer-songwriter, born in 1963 in Armadouro, whose romantic pop and chanson repertoire made him known in Portugal and among Portuguese communities abroad. His best-known songs include “Sonhos de Menino” and “Depois de Ti (Mais Nada),” while O Homem Que Sou is among the central albums in his catalogue. Tony Carreira has performed repeatedly at the Olympia in Paris, reflecting the strong connection between his concert career and the Portuguese community in France. His Sempre tour led to a planned stage break after a 2018 concert at Altice Arena in Lisbon.
