Mark Guiliana in Brooklyn

Mark Guiliana is an American drummer and composer, born in 1980 and raised in New Jersey, whose music covers contemporary jazz, post-bop and electronic rhythm. He played on David Bowie’s final studio album, Blackstar, formed the duo Mehliana with Brad Mehldau and has led projects heard on Jersey and Beat Music! Beat Music! Beat Music! In the 2000s, Mark Guiliana toured as a member of bassist Avishai Cohen’s trio. He later developed his Beat Music project through performances at New York’s Rockwood Music Hall. In 2014, Mehliana performed music from Taming the Dragon for NPR’s Tiny Desk and at Jazz in Marciac.
