Mark O'Connor in Edmonds

Mark O'Connor is an American violinist, fiddler and composer, born in Seattle in 1961. His work spans bluegrass, country, jazz and classical music, and his best-known compositions include “Appalachia Waltz” and “Fiddle Concerto.” During the 1980s, he performed on tour as a member of the David Grisman Quintet and the Dregs. In the following decade, he gave trio concerts with Yo-Yo Ma and Edgar Meyer connected to their recording of “Appalachia Waltz,” then took jazz repertoire on the road in O'Connor's Hot Swing Trio with guitarist Frank Vignola and bassist Jon Burr.
