Mark Olson in Sheffield

Mark Olson is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist from Minnesota, best known as a co-founder and former co-lead singer of the alt-country band The Jayhawks. His writing and vocals helped shape the albums Hollywood Town Hall and Tomorrow the Green Grass, including “Waiting for the Sun,” “Blue” and “I’d Run Away.” His later work includes recordings with The Original Harmony Ridge Creekdippers and the solo album The Salvation Blues. Mark Olson toured with Gary Louris as an acoustic duo after the release of their album Ready for the Flood, performing material from their shared catalog in theatres and clubs. He then rejoined The Jayhawks for reunion concerts and toured with the band around Mockingbird Time; the reunion appearances included Primavera Sound in Barcelona.
