Marseille in Nottingham

Marseille are an English hard rock and heavy metal band formed in Liverpool in 1976. Associated with the new wave of British heavy metal, they are known for the albums Red, White and Slightly Blue, Marseille and Touch the Night, as well as songs including “The French Way” and “Kiss Like Rock and Roll.” Guitarist Neil Buchanan was part of the band before becoming widely known as a television presenter. Marseille won the UK Battle of the Bands final at Wembley Arena in 1977, a performance that led to a record deal with Mountain Records. They later built their concert history through headline appearances and support dates for Judas Priest, UFO and Whitesnake.
