Artists
Marshall Crenshaw is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist, born in Detroit in 1953, whose concise power pop and guitar-driven rock became widely known through “Someday, Someway,” “Cynical Girl” and “Whenever You’re on My Mind.” His self-titled debut and its follow-up, Field Day, established the melodic songwriting that has remained central to his work. In 1978, he joined the touring company of Beatlemania as an understudy for John Lennon and subsequently took over the role. His own road work was later documented on My Truck Is My Home, assembled from performances recorded during a 1990 tour. The Bottle Rockets later backed him on tour for full-band performances of his catalog.
Sarah Borges is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist based in Boston who plays roots rock and alternative country. She became known through recordings with Sarah Borges and the Broken Singles, including the albums Silver City, Diamonds in the Dark and The Stars Are Out. Her later releases under her own name include Radio Sweetheart, Love’s Middle Name and Together Alone. Sarah Borges and the Broken Singles established their live history through club touring in the United States and Europe. They performed at South by Southwest and appeared at the Newport Folk Festival in 2009.
