Marty Friedman in Mexico City

Marty Friedman is an American guitarist and composer known for instrumental rock, heavy metal and his work with Megadeth. He first recorded with Jason Becker in Cacophony, then played lead guitar on Megadeth albums including Rust in Peace, Countdown to Extinction and Youthanasia. His solo catalogue includes Dragon’s Kiss, Inferno and Wall of Sound. The Clash of the Titans tour placed Friedman on arena stages with Megadeth, Slayer and Anthrax in the early 1990s, during a decade in which he toured extensively as Megadeth’s lead guitarist. He later took his instrumental material on the road under his own name, performing with an electric band in Japan, Europe and North America. In 2023, he rejoined Megadeth for three songs at Nippon Budokan in Tokyo, their first performance together in more than two decades.
