Marty Haggard in Fort Liberty

Marty Haggard is an American country singer and songwriter, born in Bakersfield, California, in 1958, and the son of Merle Haggard. His signature recordings include “Trains Make Me Lonesome,” while his albums include Borders & Boundaries. His later work has frequently drawn on songs written or recorded by his father. He joined Merle Haggard’s road show in 1979, gaining early touring experience before performing under his own name. He later took a tribute program devoted to his father’s catalogue to theatres and country-music venues, combining those songs with stories about their family and life on the road. The program centers on the music of Merle Haggard.
