Martyn Joseph is a Welsh singer-songwriter and guitarist, born in Penarth in 1960, whose music draws on contemporary folk and acoustic rock. His best-known songs include “Dolphins Make Me Cry” and “Please Sir,” both associated with the album Being There; his later work includes “Here Come the Young.” Martyn Joseph has spent much of his career touring Britain and North America as a solo singer-guitarist. Support tours with Art Garfunkel and Joan Armatrading brought him into larger halls, while his own dates have centred on folk clubs, arts centres and theatres; he has also performed at London’s Royal Albert Hall.
