Mary Gauthier in Decatur

Mary Gauthier is an American singer-songwriter born in New Orleans in 1962 who writes folk, country and Americana songs. She is known for the albums Drag Queens in Limousines, Mercy Now and Rifles & Rosary Beads, as well as songs including “I Drink” and “Mercy Now.” The material on Rifles & Rosary Beads was co-written with military veterans and their families through SongwritingWith:Soldiers. Following Mercy Now, Gauthier toured listening rooms and theatres and performed at the Newport Folk Festival. She later brought the veterans’ stories from Rifles & Rosary Beads into her concert repertoire, which she has also presented at the Cambridge Folk Festival. Her shows center on her voice, acoustic guitar and the stories behind the songs. Singer-songwriter Jaimee Harris has toured and performed with Mary Gauthier.

Jaimee Harris is an American singer-songwriter from Waco, Texas, whose music draws on country, folk and Americana. Her debut album, Red Rescue, arrived in 2018, followed by Boomerang Town in 2023. The latter record centers on addiction, family, recovery and the pull of home. Jaimee Harris has toured listening rooms and theatres in the United States and the United Kingdom, performing material from both albums in headline and support sets. At concerts with Mary Gauthier, she has presented her own opening set and then joined the headlining performance on guitar and harmony vocals.
