Masatoshi Nakamura in Kyoto

Masatoshi Nakamura is a Japanese singer and actor, born in Onagawa in 1951, whose music spans pop and kayōkyoku. His recording career began in 1974 with “Fureai,” released while he was starring in the television drama Warera Seishun! His best-known songs also include “Oretachi no Tabi,” “Kokoro no Iro” and “Koibito mo Nureru Machikado.” In 2024, he marked fifty years in entertainment with a commemorative production at Meijiza in Tokyo, following decades of concert tours around Japan. The engagement paired a stage play with a concert drawn from Masatoshi Nakamura’s songbook.
