MASS OF THE FERMENTING DREGS is a Japanese rock trio formed in Kobe in 2002. Led by bassist and vocalist Natsuko Miyamoto, the band plays dense alternative rock shaped by post-hardcore, math rock and shoegaze. Its best-known records include World Is Yours, No New World and Awakening:Sleeping. The band performed at SXSW in Austin in 2009. After pausing activities in 2012, MASS OF THE FERMENTING DREGS resumed performing in 2015 and mounted a North American tour in 2023 that included New York and Los Angeles.
