About Mat Kerekes
Mat Kerekes is an American singer-songwriter from Toledo, Ohio, known as the lead vocalist of the emo and alternative-rock band Citizen. His solo work draws on acoustic indie rock and folk, including the albums Luna & the Wild Blue Everything, Ruby and You Look Like a Stranger, and songs such as “My Lucky #3,” “Direction” and “Hawthorne.”
Kerekes performed on the 2015 Vans Warped Tour as Citizen’s frontman, then documented his solo repertoire in an Audiotree Live session. In 2023 he fronted the band on the Youth tenth-anniversary tour, where Citizen performed the album in full.
