Max Cooper is a Northern Irish electronic producer and audiovisual artist born in Belfast. A former computational biologist, he makes melodic electronic music that moves through techno, ambient and intricate experimental forms. His principal albums include Human, Emergence, Yearning for the Infinite and Unspoken Words. In 2019, Max Cooper presented the Barbican-commissioned Yearning for the Infinite as an audiovisual performance built around ideas of boundlessness in mathematics, nature and society. He later staged a three-dimensional audiovisual production at the Odeon of Herodes Atticus in Athens, documented in Live at the Acropolis.
Rival Consoles is the recording name of British electronic musician Ryan Lee West, who comes from Leicester and is based in London. The first artist signed to Erased Tapes, he is known for melodic, rhythm-driven electronic music on albums including Persona, Articulation, Overflow and Now Is. The Persona audiovisual show brought his live electronic performance and Misha Shyukin’s synchronized visuals to Barbican Hall. West later composed the score for choreographer Alexander Whitley’s dance production Overflow, which was staged at Sadler’s Wells.
